Torbay Hospital Integrated Care Network
Client: South Devon Healthcare NHS Trust
Project Value: £80m
Directors Sohrab Rustomjee and Chris Allen worked closely with key clinicians at Torbay Hospital to realise their ambition in developing an Integrated Care Network in Devon. A bid for National Funding for this development was submitted at the end of 2000.
That project involved the proposed building of two new blocks strategically placed on a sprawling site to link the old Hospital facilities with the more recent buildings. It would provide the hospital with a new main entrance, ward block, ambulatory care, treatment and diagnostic facilities, an integrated emergency assessment department, a women’s unit and modern, high quality surgical accommodation including additional operating theatres.
More recently SR Architects have collaborated with another Architectural practice to provide a revised and more extensive Design Statement in 2005 for South Devon Healthcare NHS Trust.
